The former Liverpool manager states rejoining to manage Liverpool is theoretically possible.

The German coach, who departed from Anfield in 2024, has suggested that rejoining the club is a possibility. The 58-year-old, after a transformative nine-season tenure that included continental glory and the Reds’ first league title in 30 years, currently occupies positions as head of global soccer for Red Bull and providing guidance to Germany's league body.

Supporters’ Hopes and Klopp’s Candid Remarks

Liverpool won the Premier League in the previous campaign, but many fans holding him in high esteem would be thrilled by the notion that he may eventually return. In a wide-ranging interview, he shared with the podcast host: “I stated I will never coach another team on English soil. So that means should it be the Reds...absolutely. It's plausible.”

“At 58 years old, so the choice could be mine later on, I don’t know. Is a decision required immediately? In that case, I'd stay away. Fortunately, no such pressure exists. I'll simply watch what lies ahead.”

Conditions for a Comeback

Pressed on what circumstances would have to unfold to tempt his return to management, Klopp admitted he was not instantly drawn toward coming back. “I'm not entirely sure, My present work fulfills me,” he stated. “I don't crave being a coach; No desire to be during downpours for two-and-a-half or three hours; I'm glad to skip media briefings multiple times weekly or having 10-12 interviews weekly.

“No nostalgia for the changing area in that context, however, dining out with the players enjoying conversation, is pleasant. With many victories so there was often great spirits around the place. Remaining with me is Virgil [Van Dijk’s] laugh in my ear to illustrate.”

Commending Arne Slot

Klopp was full of praise for his successor, crediting him due to the changes which secured the championship in the previous season. The team has suffered four in a row across various tournaments post heavy investment, yet he dismissed the suggestion that it might signal a slump.

“[Liverpool have] a top-class attacker in Flo[rian] Wirtz, doubters will be silenced with negative comments. He’s an incredible talent. The French striker, superb talent. It’s a really good thoughtfully assembled roster. No need for concern about Liverpool, they'll bounce back.”

Emotional Tribute for Diogo Jota

The manager expressed deep feeling regarding the passing of Jota, a player he signed while in charge, and its impact at the club. Jota died tragically in a car crash alongside his brother recently.

“Can you substitute somebody like Diogo? It’s not about his on-field talent, it’s the guy he was. It's hard to picture the squad missing him. I find it difficult to discuss on this topic. A profound tragedy for all the boys too. Not a single person will ever use it to justify results though it's a fact. Entering the changing area where his spirit remains. Dealing with that individually is challenging. Overwhelming.”
