Seamer Atkinson Adds to England's Injury Problems.

'Significant concern' for the English camp after Atkinson leaves the field suffering a hamstring problem.

The English seamer further complicated England's injury problems upon exiting the ground on the second morning of the Boxing Day Test in the Ashes series.

Atkinson experienced discomfort in his left hamstring immediately following a delivery in his spell on Saturday.

The touring camp indicated Atkinson had experienced "tightness" and was to take time on the sidelines in order to be assessed "during the day".

The concluding match of the tour at the SCG starts on Sunday, 4 January.

The English side has previously lost key quicks Mark Wood with a knee problem and Jofra Archer because of a side injury on the current trip.

Matthew Fisher was added to the party as cover for Wood.

His form was underwhelming during the first two matches, claiming a mere a handful of scalps.

He was left out for the Adelaide match, before being recalled for the Boxing Day match to fill the void.

Surrey's Atkinson performed better in the fourth Test, bagging two scalps in Australia's first innings, and scoring 28 runs with the bat among just a trio of teammates who passed ten runs.

After bowling one over late on the first day, he resumed the next day and had nightwatchman Scott Boland caught behind.

However, on the final ball of his spell, he sent down a variation to the batsman and promptly felt at his leg.

The English bowler was brought back for the Melbourne match after being left out of the third.
