On Monday, the tribunal learned call records and data recovered from phones documented Ms Wandelt persistently asking Madeleine's mother for a genetic test during 2023 and 2024.

Madeleine's disappearance in 2007 - as a three-year-old during a family holiday in Portugal - is among the most publicized investigations and is still unresolved.

'I Do Not Need Money'

Another phone message, presented in court, documented Ms Wandelt saying: "I realize I'm fat and unattractive like Madeleine was, but I believe what I feel."

While one recording of Ms Wandelt's monologues with Mrs McCann's voicemail said: "Suppose there is a slight possibility that I am she? What then? Isn't that significant for you?"

"I don't want money, I maintain a existence here in Poland, I just want to know," the recording stated.

The jury was advised that by means of emails, text messages and calls, Ms Wandelt asked for a DNA test, transmitted early photographs to her phone in a bid to display a likeness to Mrs McCann's vanished daughter, and claimed to have "recollections" from a childhood with the McCanns.

An intelligence analyst, an investigator with the police force who compiled the evidence, advised the court there "showed no any responses" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt also reached out to close associates of the McCanns, as per the communication logs.

On October 9th, 2024, Mr McCann picked up a phone call from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, saying she had "the wrong phone."

That day Ms Wandelt left a recording on Mrs McCann's voicemail saying "I will persist and I will prove my point."

The court was informed Mrs Spragg struck up a relationship online with Ms Wandelt prior to accompanying her on a appearance to the McCanns' home in Leicestershire in that winter.

Communication data demonstrated Mrs Spragg had reached out through WhatsApp to Mrs McCann to say the media had characterized Ms Wandelt as "mentally unstable" but that she should be taken seriously in the time leading up to the visit to Rothley, the county, in that winter.

The court heard message exchanges between the two accused, in last November, discussing trying to acquire Mrs McCann's DNA samples from her garbage or from cutlery at a dining venue.

"We must make a stand," Mrs Spragg advised Ms Wandelt.

On the evening of the appearance to their house, the defendant transmitted a message which said: "We are positioned outside the McCanns' home with our vehicle dark resembling investigators. I had hoped to do this with Peter Andrew I didn't imagine I would be involved in this with the McCanns."

The case proceeds.
